Ashford University names Katrina Harvey, who earned an organizational management degree through the university’s online learning program, its Outstanding Alum of the Month.
Harvey, who worked as a grievance supervisor, said multiple reasons led her to pursue additional education. One of those was that despite being a highly qualified employee, there was not a means to move up without further education.
“I just wanted to put myself in a position to do the job that I want to do,” Harvey said. “I know that I am, by nature, a leader and I belong in a role where I can impact people.”
Harvey notes that taking on the online learning program did bring along its own set of challenges on top of working 14-hour days. She also states that through the program, she was able to apply new skills instantly and allowed her to begin to plan the initiation of her own business. The article notes that her business will be focusing on life-coaching.
“I must say that this has been the most rewarding college experience,” Harvey said. “I feel like I truly got what I thought I was going to get from this program.”
Ashford University offers degree programs at the associate, bachelor’s and graduate level in online formats.
