Butler's counseling program rated highly by Top Counseling Schools

Butler University’s graduate program in school counseling has been recognized by TopCounselingSchools.org as one of the top programs in Ind., the university announced this week.


There are several factors that the website uses in order to determine its highest ranked programs. These include the percentage of students that graduate, accreditation length, productivity in research efforts, program costs, license exam passage rates and the amount of students that find work after finishing the program.


“From diversity awareness to career planning, Butler’s curriculum contains actionable learning that students will apply every day in their future career in the Indiana public school system,” the website said. “Although this affordable counseling graduate degree program is geared towards those working in schools already, Butler also offers a ‘fast-track’ option that allows students to complete their degree in under three years.”


The organization specializes in providing independent information for counseling professionals and those that are interested in pursuing this career field.


Dean of the College of Education, Ena Shelley states that the program has been recognized because of its focus on keep relevant with trends in the field and that it is a rigorous course of study.  She also states that the members of faculty that specialize in this area are leading experts at the state and national levels.
