With the Kansas Shine Bowl banquet and the final Summer Theatre of “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales” scheduled for Friday night, parking at Emporia State University will be hard to come by.

The Kansas Shine Bowl is expecting more than 1,000 guests, and will overlap with “The Stinky Cheese Man” on the east side of campus with the banquet taking place in the Memorial Union and the production in King Hall. King Hall is to the immediate north of Memorial Union.

“We are encouraging our theater patrons to allow extra time for parking and arriving at the theater in time for the 7:30 p.m. curtain,” Director of ESU Summer Theatre Jim Bartruff said.

Theater attendees will be allowed to drop passengers off by the theater on Market Street or in the less-congested Kellogg Circle. The university is expecting many people to park by White Library and Science Hall on the west side of campus so it is setting up a shuttle service to accommodate those who have to park far away.

“The Stinky Cheese Man” is at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday.
