The University of Arkansas’ Office of the chief information officer and information technology staff recently celebrated the completion of four Achieve IT: Excellence in Technology initiative projects across campus.

There are 26 planned projects under the initiative.

"These are the first projects delivered by the campus IT team. It signifies major progress on the Achieve IT initiative," University of Arkansas Chief Information Officer Chris McCoy said. "I want to highlight the work of Chris Clanton, Scott Zemke, Chuck Mitchell and Devyn Moore. These projects wouldn't have been completed to this level of quality without their leadership."

One of the completed projects was the Network Everywhere enterprise technology project that added 996 wireless access points in 30 academic buildings. The other completed projects included Classroom Technology Everywhere, Virtual Desktop Everywhere and Service Desk Everywhere.

"The enthusiastic support from campus leadership, including the deans, the provosts, and Tim O'Donnell, the vice chancellor of financial affairs, also contributed mightily to the success of the project," McCoy said. "Finally, the journey of working together as a diverse team is just as important as the destination. The collaboration as 'one team' laid the groundwork for the momentum of the remaining 22 projects."
