Ajman University celebrates International Elders Day

The Ajman University of Science and Technology’s Sociology Department at the College of Mass Communication and Humanities, in association with the Community Services Department, recently held a celebration for International Elders Day.

Ajman holds a celebration every year in Oct. 6 to honor seniors who play a crucial role in society.

Dean of the College Faculty of Mass Communication and Humanities Dr. Hussam Salama, as well as the heads of various departments, faculty and staff members, were on hand to launch the event. Also in attendance for the festivities were the guests of honor, which were visitors from the Ajman and Sharjah old people homes.

Guests of honor shared their stories about their lifestyles, weapons, medicines and poems that were famous or significant in their time with the youth in attendance at the festival, which included stalls with traditional cuisine.
