Dr. Nils Ohrberg, faculty member at Ashford University’s Forbes School of Business and Technology, was recently invited by Kenya Methodist University to travel to Kenya to speak about diversity, inclusion and how crucial acceptance, understanding and reconciliation are in society.

While in Kenya, Ohrberg visited a number of churches. He appeared as an expert on diversity and inclusion on Kenyan broadcast television and radio, as well.

“It was a great honor to visit the country of Kenya and share my expertise in the topic of diversity and inclusion with many various audiences,” Ohrberg said. “Kenya includes 42 distinct tribes, which results in a beautifully diverse country with deep rooted and rich tribal and cultural traditions and histories. With the upcoming 2017 election, the people of Kenya have a real and significant opportunity to accept and perceive the humanity in each and every individual, and transform a divided people into a strong, unified and successful nation.”

The invitation for Ohrberg to travel to Kenya came about due to his professional expertise, personal interest and his participation in numerous Washington, D.C., organizations, which are all linked to diversity, inclusion and multicultural elements -- and the part each aspect plays in society.
