Ashland University issued the following announcement on March 23.

Artists and non-artists are invited to join the Ashland University Art Club and the Coburn Art Gallery on the Ashland University campus for a “Mixed Media Paint Night” Cancer Fundraiser on Friday, April 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

“The event will explore different painting and drawing materials and methods to create one unique piece of artwork – and no previous art experience is required,” said Cynthia Petry, director of the Coburn Gallery. “Relax and enjoy a night out while raising money for a great cause. We provide the sparkling beverages, snacks, painting supplies, aprons and step-by-step instructions.”

The “Paint Night” event is $20 per person and enrollment is limited. All proceeds will benefit local resident Tina Smith during her battle with cancer. Monies will go toward Smith’s medical bills and travel expenses to chemo treatments.

Registration and payment are due prior to the class date. For more information on Coburn “Mixed Media Paint Night” or to make a donation, call 419.289.5652 or email coburngallery@ashland.edu.
