University of Arkansas issued the following announcement on April 13.
The second annual March for Science NWA will take place starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14. The community is invited to meet at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at Dickson Street and East Avenue beginning at 9:30 a.m. Marchers will move on to Dickson Street at 10 a.m. and travel to Hillside Auditorium, just east of the Greek Theatre.
Lance Miller, assistant professor of mathematical sciences at the University of Arkansas and Rev. Clint Schnekloth, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville will speak following the march.
The event has been organized by two U of A undergraduates, Zachary Renfro and Brayley Gattis, both science majors, with the stated purpose of defending scientific thought, research, funding and education.
