About 36.1 percent of the 169 degrees and certificates handed out by the Caribbean University-Ponce in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Ponce conferred 42 bachelor's degrees and 19 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Practical Nursing, Vocational Nursing and Nursing Assistants, Other. Data shows the school gave out 26 bachelor's degrees in Practical Nursing, Vocational Nursing and Nursing Assistants, Other, followed by 19 associate's degrees in Practical Nursing, Vocational Nursing and Nursing Assistants, Other and 16 bachelor's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
The university enrolled 1,062 students for 2016-17, including 795 in undergraduate programs and 267 in graduate programs.
