About 91.9 percent of the 703 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Juan conferred 202 doctor's degrees and 199 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 98 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 95 doctor's degrees in Medicine and 52 doctor's degrees in Dentistry.
The university enrolled 2,277 students for 2016-17, including 388 in undergraduate programs and 1,889 in graduate programs.
