Graduates earn 1,276 degrees, certificates from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico-Ponce

About 22.6 percent of the 1,276 degrees and certificates handed out by the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico-Ponce in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Ponce conferred 197 bachelor's degrees and 71 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Law. Data shows the school gave out 139 doctor's degrees in Law, followed by 129 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 80 bachelor's degrees in Biomedical Sciences, General.

The university enrolled 7,360 students for 2016-17, including 5,214 in undergraduate programs and 2,146 in graduate programs.
