Graduates earn 2,125 degrees, certificates from University of South Dakota

About 29.7 percent of the 2,125 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of South Dakota in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Vermillion conferred 411 bachelor's degrees and 113 doctor's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 192 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 106 bachelor's degrees in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General and 97 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The university enrolled 10,038 students for 2016-17, including 7,500 in undergraduate programs and 2,538 in graduate programs.
