Graduates earn 688 degrees, certificates from Mercyhurst University

About 20.8 percent of the 688 degrees and certificates handed out by the Mercyhurst University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Erie conferred 119 bachelor's degrees and 19 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Intelligence, General. Data shows the school gave out 53 bachelor's degrees in Intelligence, General, followed by 33 master's degrees in Intelligence, General and 31 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies.

The university enrolled 2,784 students for 2016-17, including 2,464 in undergraduate programs and 320 in graduate programs.
