About 67.6 percent of the 1,350 degrees and certificates handed out by the Mech-Tech College in 2016-17 were to students in Mechanic and Repair Technologies/Technicians programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Caguas conferred 873 certificates and 39 associate's degrees in Mechanic and Repair Technologies/Technicians programs.
But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician. Data shows the school gave out 482 certificates in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician, followed by 199 certificates in Welding Technology/Welder and 111 certificates in Diesel Mechanics Technology/Technician.
The college enrolled 2,707 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
