About 75 percent of the 72 degrees and certificates handed out by the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in 2016-17 were to students in Visual and Performing Arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Juan conferred 43 bachelor's degrees and 9 master's degrees in Visual and Performing Arts programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Jazz/Jazz Studies. Data shows the school gave out 14 bachelor's degrees in Jazz/Jazz Studies, followed by 14 bachelor's degrees in Music Teacher Education and 9 bachelor's degrees in Voice and Opera.
The conservatory enrolled 462 students for 2016-17, including 423 in undergraduate programs and 39 in graduate programs.
