Graduates earn 4,802 degrees, certificates from Lamar University

About 37.5 percent of the 4,802 degrees and certificates handed out by the Lamar University in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Beaumont conferred 911 master's degrees and 816 certificates in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General. Data shows the school gave out 707 master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, followed by 691 certificates in Educational Leadership and Administration, General and 500 master's degrees in Counseling Psychology.

The university enrolled 15,001 students for 2016-17, including 9,308 in undergraduate programs and 5,693 in graduate programs.
