Graduates earn 775 degrees, certificates from Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo

About 38.6 percent of the 775 degrees and certificates handed out by the Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Arecibo conferred 130 bachelor's degrees and 77 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 130 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 77 associate's degrees in Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training and 49 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies.

The university enrolled 4,340 students for 2016-17, including 3,876 in undergraduate programs and 464 in graduate programs.
