In-state tuition and fees rose 4.4 percent for 2017-18 at EDP University of Puerto Rico Inc-San Juan, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
Puerto Rico residents paid $6,200 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $260 more than the $5,940 charged for 2016-17.
Non-residents paid 72.8 percent more than residents this year, or $10,712. Their price tag grew 3.4 percent from $10,356 in 2016-17.
About 75 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Puerto Rico residents. And about 25 percent are residents of other states.
Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 103 students received grants or scholarships totaling $508,094 and 27 students took out student loans totaling more than $170,008.
Including all undergraduates, 1,187 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.07 million. Another 635 took out $5.5 million in federal student loans.
