Cost of college went down for all students at Universidad Central Del Caribe

Tuition and fees fell 23.3 percent for 2017-18 at Universidad Central Del Caribe, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Puerto Rico students paid $8,032 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $2,438 less than the $10,470 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 22 students received grants or scholarships totaling $94,364 and 11 students took out student loans totaling more than $37,000.

Including all undergraduates, 137 students used grants or scholarships totaling $550,319. Another 57 took out $228,059 in federal student loans.
