Cost of college went up for all students at American Educational College

Tuition and fees rose 1.6 percent for 2017-18 at American Educational College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Puerto Rico students paid $6,634 to attend the private for-profit school this year $104 more than the $6,530 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 412 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.14 million.

Including all undergraduates, 709 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.01 million.
