Cost of college went up for all students at Escuela Hotelera de San Juan

Tuition and fees rose 2.3 percent for 2017-18 at Escuela Hotelera de San Juan, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Puerto Rico students paid $13,036 to attend the private for-profit school this year $297 more than the $12,739 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 459 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.88 million and 99 students took out student loans totaling more than $305,798.

Including all undergraduates, 774 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.5 million. Another 222 took out $696,446 in federal student loans.
