Cost of college went up for all students at University of Pikeville

Tuition and fees rose 3.8 percent for 2017-18 at University of Pikeville, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kentucky students paid $20,338 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $738 more than the $19,600 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 314 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.67 million and 295 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.16 million.

Including all undergraduates, 1,233 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21.83 million. Another 1,145 took out $8.93 million in federal student loans.
