Cost of college went up for all students at University of Evansville

Tuition and fees rose 4.2 percent for 2017-18 at University of Evansville, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Indiana students paid $35,394 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $1,428 more than the $33,966 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 475 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.52 million and 320 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.07 million.

Including all undergraduates, 1,940 students used grants or scholarships totaling $44.15 million. Another 1,120 took out $7.94 million in federal student loans.
