Cost of college went up for all students at Beloit College

Tuition and fees rose 3.5 percent for 2017-18 at Beloit College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin students paid $48,706 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $1,646 more than the $47,060 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 389 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.44 million and 243 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.9 million.

Including all undergraduates, 1,238 students used grants or scholarships totaling $34.47 million. Another 742 took out $5.08 million in federal student loans.
