Cost of college went up for all students at Ashland University

Tuition and fees rose 1.5 percent for 2017-18 at Ashland University, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio students paid $20,700 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $308 more than the $20,392 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 571 students received grants or scholarships totaling $6.72 million and 434 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.83 million.

Including all undergraduates, 2,215 students used grants or scholarships totaling $23.66 million. Another 1,774 took out $12.91 million in federal student loans.
