81 percent of applicants to Grand Valley State University were admitted for fall 2017

At Grand Valley State University, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Allendale enrolled 25,049 students in fall 2017, including 21,937 in undergraduate and 3,112 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

92 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 8 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (82 percent) and Black or African American (5 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 17,533 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
