65 percent of applicants to University of Detroit Mercy were admitted for fall 2017

At University of Detroit Mercy, 83 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Detroit enrolled 5,113 students in fall 2017, including 2,843 in undergraduate and 2,270 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 7 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Black or African American (13 percent).

The school admitted 65 percent of the 4,301 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 20 percent enrolled.
