59 percent of applicants to Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Ponce were admitted for fall 2017

At Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Ponce, 77 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Mercedita enrolled 5,205 students in fall 2017, including 4,786 in undergraduate and 419 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

99 percent of undergraduates are residents of Puerto Rico, and 1 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (100 percent).

The school admitted 59 percent of the 2,113 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 78 percent enrolled.
