At University of Alabama in Huntsville, 82 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The four-year public institution in Huntsville enrolled 9,101 students in fall 2017, including 7,090 in undergraduate and 2,011 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.
71 percent of undergraduates are residents of Alabama, and 27 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.
The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (74 percent) and Black or African American (11 percent).
The school admitted 81 percent of the 4,454 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 37 percent enrolled.
