Washburn University enrolls 5,873 undergrads

At Washburn University, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Topeka enrolled 6,691 students in fall 2017, including 5,873 in undergraduate and 818 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kansas, and 11 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (65 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (11 percent).
