84 percent of applicants to University of Arizona were admitted for fall 2017

At University of Arizona, 91 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Tucson enrolled 43,751 students in fall 2017, including 34,101 in undergraduate and 9,650 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

55 percent of undergraduates are residents of Arizona, and 38 percent are residents of other states. 6 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (27 percent).

The school admitted 84 percent of the 33,608 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 26 percent enrolled.
