81 percent of applicants to University of Hartford were admitted for fall 2017

At University of Hartford, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in West Hartford enrolled 6,561 students in fall 2017, including 5,069 in undergraduate and 1,492 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

40 percent of undergraduates are residents of Connecticut, and 57 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (54 percent) and Black or African American (15 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 14,043 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 12 percent enrolled.
