84 percent of applicants to Arizona State University-Tempe were admitted for fall 2017

At Arizona State University-Tempe, 89 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Tempe enrolled 51,164 students in fall 2017, including 42,427 in undergraduate and 8,737 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

59 percent of undergraduates are residents of Arizona, and 32 percent are residents of other states. 8 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (21 percent).

The school admitted 84 percent of the 24,127 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 39 percent enrolled.
