64 percent of applicants to Newman University were admitted for fall 2017

At Newman University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Wichita enrolled 3,378 students in fall 2017, including 2,810 in undergraduate and 568 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

74 percent of undergraduates are residents of Kansas, and 18 percent are residents of other states. 8 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (68 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (15 percent).

The school admitted 64 percent of the 1,084 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 31 percent enrolled.
