At Southern Connecticut State University, 86 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The four-year public institution in New Haven enrolled 10,202 students in fall 2017, including 7,947 in undergraduate and 2,255 in graduate programs, data shows. 12.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.
95 percent of undergraduates are residents of Connecticut, and 5 percent are residents of other states.
The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (53 percent) and Black or African American (17 percent).
The school admitted 65 percent of the 8,922 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
