University of Arkansas-Fort Smith enrolls 6,620 undergrads

At University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Fort Smith enrolled 6,638 students in fall 2017, including 6,620 in undergraduate and 18 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Arkansas, and 10 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).
