63 percent of applicants to Florida Institute of Technology were admitted for fall 2017

At Florida Institute of Technology, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 71 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Melbourne enrolled 6,402 students in fall 2017, including 3,635 in undergraduate and 2,767 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

35 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 39 percent are residents of other states. 25 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (43 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (8 percent).

The school admitted 63 percent of the 8,898 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 13 percent enrolled.
