In 2016-2017, 1.3 percentage of University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez has 12,486 undergraduate students, of which 54 percent are men and 46 percent are women, and a total student body of 13,481 students. Of these students, 89 men and 87 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.
This total does not include students playing intramural sports.
According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.
The sports at University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez with the most participants are track and field, outdoor (50), swimming (34) and basketball (30).
