2.8 percent of University of Connecticut students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017

In 2016-2017, 2.8 percentage of University of Connecticut students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

University of Connecticut has 19,241 undergraduate students, of which 50 percent are men and 50 percent are women, and a total student body of 27,578 students. Of these students, 402 men and 379 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at University of Connecticut with the most participants are all track combined (239), football (104) and rowing (71).
