General Education: Designing Workshop

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

1:00–2:00 p.m.

Social Work Building, Room 202

The General Education Committee and the General Education Design Team are recruiting Adelphi University faculty to attend an interactive workshop.

The goal is to design two courses for a pilot of a two-semester First-Year Foundation that is grounded in Adelphi’s core learning goals. The pilot will launch in Fall 2020.

The structure and theme of the courses:

Semester 1: Self-in-Context

Semester 2: Problem-Solving

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 26 and repeated on Wednesday, March 4, both from 1:00 – 2:30 pm in the Social Work Building, Room 202. All faculty are welcome.

Faculty who are interested in opportunities for interdisciplinary team-teaching, currently teaching a First-Year Seminar, and/or post-tenure faculty in search of a pedagogical challenge are especially encouraged to attend! Have great ideas but no availability next year? Please come and share.
