Tiffin University was recently given a $1,250 Betty Jane Memorial Fund grant that it will use for the costs of an educational resource for students.

The fund awarded to the university will go toward the "Read, Write and Gold" program. Through the program, students with special needs can listen to textbooks, articles and other educational material, thus allowing them to more easily study pertinent material. Another helpful feature of the text-to-speech program is that students can use it to create personal dictionaries and highlight portions of the text.

Through the Tiffin Charitable Foundation, the Betty Jane Memorial Fund has been supporting activities and organizations throughout Tiffin since 2007. It seeks to support mental, physical, social and vocational rehab programs.

The foundation has been serving Tiffin, Ohio and Seneca County for 25 years, and hopes to promote charitable and educational services through the allocation of funding.
