The Bridgewater College Symphonic Band will perform at a spring concert Sunday at 3 p.m. in Cole Hall on the Bridgewater campus.
The free concert is open to the public.
Under the leadership of Assistant Professor of Music Christine Carrillo, the band will present “Music for Wind Band: Past and Present.” The concert will include historical symphonic pieces such as "Lincolnshire Posy" by Percy Grainger and "First Suite in E-flat" by Gustav Holst, along with more modern works such as Benjamin Taylor’s "Shattering Infinity" and "Inspiration," written by local composer Sam Kauffman.
In addition, the performance is scheduled to feature the world premiere of "Clockwork" for percussion ensemble composed by Sean Mouton, a sophomore music major at Bridgewater.
Two senior music majors will also will be featured. Jordan Haugh will serve as conductor for "God’s Country" by Rossano Galante, and Aaron Lavinder will direct "Everything Beautiful" by Samuel Hazo.
