Emporia State names director of diversity student programs

Deanna Williams was recently named director of diversity student programs at Emporia State University.

“Deanna is committed to engaging students and colleagues in diversity and inclusion and is devoted to helping students discern their passion and discover their calling,” Emporia State assistant dean of students Jason Brooks said. “We are pleased that Deanna has accepted this appointment and know she will represent Hornet Nation well and will contribute much to this diverse community.”

Williams has most recently been a graduate assistant for service, diversity and social justice at Fontbonne University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She also holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Williams will assume her new position in June.
