Described as “a visionary strategist for the digital age,” Marketing Zen Group founder and CEO Shama Hyder spoke at a recent roundtable event co-sponsored by Ashford University’s business school and the Downtown San Diego Partnership.

In addition to the featured guest speaker, the “innovation breakfast panel” also included remarks from Downtown San Diego Partnership President and CEO Kris Michell and Ashford University President Craig Swenson.

The Forbes School of Business at Ashford University teams with the Downtown San Diego Partnership to sponsor San Diego Startup Week annually, providing opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators to connect and serving as the backdrop for the seminar, held at San Diego’s DiamondView Towers. The event serves as a way for San Diego constituents to celebrate their vibrant local community, share resources and exchange information.

Hyder, who spoke about the impact of social media on culture, business and politics, founded her integrated online marketing and PR firm in 2009, leading it through a period of strong growth. In 2015 Forbes named her to its “30 Under 30” list of movers and shakers; similarly, she has earned kudos from Entrepreneur Magazine as well as Fast Company, which called her the “Millennial Master of the Universe.”
