University of Evansville continues Andiron Lecture Series with 'Evansville History in Motion'
The University of Evansville (UE) will continue its Andiron Lecture Series on Nov. 9 with a talk from UE Digital Multimedia Specialist in Residence Joe Atkinson, whose lecture is titled “Evansville History in Motion.”

Atkinson’s talk will take place in Eykamp Hall, Room 253, and begin at 4 p.m. Like all of the Andiron lectures, it is free and open to the public. The series is made possible through a gift from Donald Korb and is sponsored by the William L. Ridgway College of Arts and Sciences.

This will be the last Andiron lecture for 2016, but the series will continue with three talks in 2017, beginning on Feb. 1 with UE Associate Professor of Sociology Mari Plikuhn’s “Alpha Scholars and First-Generation Families.”

Furthermore, Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library Director Cynthia Landrum will deliver a lecture entitled “Toward a New Nostalgia for Public Libraries: Engaging, Inquiring and Empowering,” on March 1, 2017, followed by the last Andiron lecture for the year on April 5, “Diggers, Farmers and Townsmen: Irish Immigrants in Southwestern Indiana,” delivered by UE Professor of History Daniel Gahan.
