Butler University's first issue of BU Well launched this week.

The publication is an open-access journal that features multimedia articles relating to health care topics. The premiere issue contains articles, interview videos with article authors and infographics relating to each topics.

BU Well consists of a 30-student editorial team from four of the Butler colleges. There is also an advisory board that consists of health care law experts and professionals in the field.

Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice Erin Albert serves as the faculty adviser and executive editor for the publication.

“BU Well is one of the nation’s only peer reviewed multimedia health care journals,” Editor-in-Chief Anne Leighty said. “This experience allows students to view and edit the work of their peers and then use their own ideas and thoughts on a topic to create an infographic and interview. This opportunity allows students to work on technical things like writing and editing, but then also on their creativity when designing an infographic and interview questions.”

The second volume of BU Well will focus on trends in health care and its future. The publication will accept scholarly articles from Aug. 18 through Dec. 16.
