Butler University alumnus Aaron Hurt was named one of the International Association of Venue Managers Foundation's 30 Under 30, a designation that recognizes emerging professionals in the venue management industry.

Hurt is the director of operations for the Butler Arts Center.

“I’m humbled to be selected as one of IAVM’s 30 Under 30 recipients,” he said. “Managing multiple venues, like we do at Butler Arts Center, is always presenting new, exciting challenges, and I’m truly privileged to have such a fun career where I’m able to solve those challenges every day. It’s quite an honor to have IAVM recognize my work in the field thus far, and I’m thankful for their support and recognition.”

Hurt has been working within venue management since 2009 and has worked with multiple venues, ensembles and individual artists, including Josh Radnor, Allen Toussaint and others.

The IAVM annual conference and trade show will take place July 23-26 in Minneapolis, where those awarded this designation will be meeting during this event. Awarded individuals are granted free registration and a travel stipend of $850 with one year of Young Professional Membership with the IAVM. The organization also will offer continuing education opportunities to help growth in the industry.

The Butler Arts Center supports multiple visual and performance art facilities. The center also offers classes in multiple areas.
