The Chronicle of Higher Education has named North Central College a “Great College to Work For," the fifth time in six years that North Central College has made the list.

North Central has also been honored by Forbes and Colleges of Distinction this year.

“North Central College has an exceptionally strong tradition of modeling what we teach students: the importance of working collaboratively with others to build a just and supportive society,” provost and vice president of academic affairs Abiodun Goke-Pariola said. “As faculty, staff and administrators, we insist that we continue to work collaboratively on fostering these values.”

The Chronicle’s ninth annual report, called The Academic Workplace, includes 93 institutions from around the country. The colleges and universities that make the report do so based on survey results turned in by more than 280 institutions.

The two categories North Central College has been recognized for this year are Teaching Environment and Tenure Clarity and Process. The category of Teaching Environment involves innovative and high-quality teaching while Tenure Clarity and Process deals with the requirements of tenure being clearly stated, according to respondents to the survey.
