Ashland University's fall convocation
will take place on Tuesday with all university students, employees
and area residents invited to attend the annual event.
Ashland President Carlos Campo will give a speech titled, “Developing the Intellect, but not at the Expense of the Heart.” University Chaplain and executive director of Christian
Ministry Rev. Jason Barnhart will welcome all attendees and extend a call to
worship. English professor Naomi Saslaw will read scripture, and assistant director of Christian Ministry Mallorie Miller will give
the benediction.
Emily Sycks, a junior at Ashland, will provide two
selections of music. Daivon Barrow and Caroline Toth, both presidential interns
at the university, will also provide readings for the event and Joey Barretta, student senate president, will offer a welcome.
The Fall Convocation is free. It will begin at 3 p.m. at the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel, on the corner of King Road and College Avenue.
