The University of Arkansas’ Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design lecture series will continue on Friday, Nov. 4, with a lecture from Anyone Corporation Executive Director and Co-Founder Cynthia Davidson.

Davidson, with Monica Ponce de Leon, curated the United States Pavilion at the Venice Biennale’s 2016 International Architecture Exhibition, which will form the basis of her lecture. The exhibition, titled "The Architectural Imagination," challenged American architectural practices to develop programs and forms for specific sites throughout Detroit that would positively impact the city.

Using the exhibition as a guide, the lecture will discuss the interrelation of client, socioeconomic issues and how architecture and architectural ideas can create meaningful change in a city. Davidson will cover the development of the projects shown in the exhibition and discuss their future presentation to Detroit audiences.

Davidson is currently the editor of architecture journal Log and was previously the editor of ANY magazine. Throughout her career, she has edited nearly 50 books, including the "Writing Architecture Series" she produced with The MIT Press.

The lecture will take place in the Ken and Linda Sue Shollmier Hall on the university’s Fayetteville campus, starting at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but there is limited seating.
